Christian Reid, RYT 500, E-RYT 200, YACEP, Reiki Master III
Sound Bath Facilitator
Christian leads Sound Baths sessions at Lido Wellness Center. A Sound bath is a meditative, therapeutic self-care practice that involves basking in the vibratory sounds of deeply resonant instruments, like Gongs and Singing Bowls. As soothing sounds calm the mind, powerful sound vibrations deeply massage the body, releasing tension in the muscles and the nervous system. Brainwaves can synchronize with sound waves in a process called brainwave entrainment, allowing patients to tune brain signals to a new frequency and enter a calm, clear state of mind. Each instrument takes the patient on a vibrational journey within, through sounds that evoke emotional release and usher in deeper states of awareness. With this awareness, one can gain perspective and insight into their current condition, sparking new pathways to self-actualization. During this profoundly transformative practice, Christian holds space for inner journeying in a way that supports gentle transitions into and out of deeper levels of consciousness.
His educational background includes training in 200 Hour Vinyasa Flow, Yin, Yoga for Recovery, Kundalini, Mantra and Kirtan, and Reiki levels 1-3. In addition, his 300 Hour advanced course taught him the history and practice of yoga and meditation and how the sound vibration effects the nervous system.
Since 2016 Christian has led classes, workshops, lectures, trainings and group therapy at yoga studios, retreats, addictions and mental health treatment centers, for private individuals and groups, and for yoga teacher trainings in OC, SD, and LA counties.
Christian leads by example with compassion and grit from his own journey of recovery from trauma and addiction. His educational yet casual teaching style transmits vital skills for working with the mind, body and emotions in a way that meets clients where they’re at, giving them the tools to break through cycles of suffering and rise to new heights. He leads clients into experiential, evidence-based practices while teaching them how to use these practices in their daily lives. Christian exudes a friendly, peaceful presence, grounding the often-esoteric teachings of yoga in a foundation of accessibility and relevance to our modern world. He holds space for profound healing, creating a safe, trauma-aware environment for clients to learn, grow and experience themselves in new ways.
To be a part of his client’s wellness journeys, sharing his passion for music and mindfulness and helping others while doing what he loves, is most rewarding to Christian. His own self-care includes connecting to nature through hiking, camping or relaxing at the beach and enjoying his musical meditation, practicing yoga, jogging and resistance training.
