Corrie Egoscue Karas, Anatomical Functionalist
Corrie, a graduate of San Diego State University, helped develop and popularize what is now a highly acclaimed approach to treating chronic pain. This method has become a staple of pain free living for those of all ages. Corrie worked side by side with her father Pete Egoscue, directing his pain treatment clinic; hiring and training employees; and creating teaching protocols that have guided many practitioners in their quest to help others live healthy pain free lives. She continues to be highly respected as a pioneer of restorative anatomical function and postural correction and has worked with a who’s who list of clients including: Tony Robbins; Jack Nicklaus and many others. Corrie has owned and operated Functionetiks since 1993, a Southern California based postural correction business specializing in relieving chronic pain.
The most rewarding part of her work is helping people understand the cause of their pain
rather than getting lost in the symptom. When they learn to address the cause, their pain goes
away. Pain is the body’s way of telling you that something is wrong. It is not to be feared, it is to
be listened to.
She incorporates wellness and self care into her personal life with daily walks in nature. Her family
dog, a six year old Vizsla, is never short of energy and makes sure he is part of every walk and
hike and they spend much time at Balboa Park; the beach; and mountains. She completes her daily
Functionetiks Smart Motions to keep her body in alignment and pain free. Corrie is an avid cook
and is always happy to pass along her most successful plant based recipes.
