Randy Karas, Anatomical Functionalist
Randy, a graduate of San Diego State University, and former collegiate athlete, has continued to develop and grow Functionetiks, a Southern California based postural correction business specializing in relieving chronic pain. His work has brought awareness to postural health and allowed countless individuals to become active again without pain. He served as Director of Therapy for an Orange County based pain treatment company overseeing all personal consultations. His role also saw him help with the implementation and management and marketing of an innovative computer generated pain relief aid. He has owned and operated Functionetiks since 1993. Randy has lectured for the LPGA and many large corporations. He has been active in youth sports while championing functional physical development of children.
He considers himself fortunate to have been part of a healing journey for so many clients. Bringing
sound and consistent principles to each case has been important, but every client proves to be
a fingerprint, uniquely their own; with different dysfunctions; different motivations; challenging
social and work environments; and of course individual goals for physical well being. He embraces
the opportunity to learn something from every client while teaching them to listen to their body
and learn how to better care for it.
A favorite quote that often comes to mind from boxer Mike Tyson, “Everyone has a plan, until
they get punched in the mouth!” Don’t get punched if you can avoid it. By taking care of your
posture and health, perhaps you can avoid that punch. What you do for yourself now will
greatly affect what you are capable of doing in the years ahead.
He has been and continues to be physically active and strongly believes in moving your body.
Exercising his dog and himself with walks and hikes is always a favorite activity along with a
round of golf and regular Functionetiks routine to keep him aligned and in tune with his body. He’ll
try any sport and probably love it and talk too much about it. He eats primarily a plant based
cuisine and is always open to the mind/body/food connection.
