Primary Therapist
Sara Asadifar is a skilled and compassionate therapist with an unwavering dedication to helping her clients achieve lasting growth and healing. Her 5 years of experience in mental health treatment have equipped her with the expertise and insights needed to support clients facing a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges.
Sara’s journey in mental health treatment began as a trainee MFT, where she provided court-mandated therapy to troubled teens. She then moved on to work as an Associate MFT at a domestic violence center, where she played a key role in empowering survivors and guiding them towards healing and recovery. After that, she worked in private practice, where she provided sex therapy and helped clients overcome a broad spectrum of emotional and relational issues.
Currently, Sara serves as a Primary Therapist at Lido Wellness Center, where she creates a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to explore their emotions, work through their traumas, and build healthier relationships. In addition to providing individual therapy, Sara also facilitates group therapy sessions where clients can share their experiences, receive support, and learn new skills.
Sara’s approach to therapy is grounded in her deep belief in the power of the therapeutic relationship to promote healing and growth. Drawing from a range of theoretical orientations, including Gestalt, Attachment, and Psychodynamic, she tailors her treatment to meet the unique needs and goals of each client. She is also trained in EMDR, a powerful approach to trauma therapy that helps clients process and heal from past traumatic experiences.
Outside of her clinical work, Sara has also held administrative roles where she has helped clients navigate practical matters such as housing, food, and legal assistance. Her experience working with survivors of domestic violence has given her a unique understanding of the importance of creating a sense of safety and stability for clients, particularly in the early stages of therapy.
Sara’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton, and a Master’s degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. She is also in the process of becoming an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist and has completed the educational requirements at The Buehler Institute. In addition, she has sought out extra training in various therapy techniques, including Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Relational Life Theory, Infidelity Recovery, and Sensate Focus.
Sara has been recognized for her work in helping clients return to dating after being in abusive relationships and was interviewed for her expertise on Laura’s House Community Conversations channel. In her personal life, she places a strong emphasis on maintaining her own mental wellness, which includes spending time with loved ones, laughing, cooking, exercising, and indulging in heart-warming films. Sara’s warm and empathetic approach, combined with her deep knowledge and expertise, make her an exceptional therapist who is committed to helping her clients build lives that are full of purpose, connection, and joy.
